OMG Read this whole series!

The Five Points Series, by author, CJ Murphy, ticks all the boxes of a must read series. Very well crafted and written with the insight that comes from of years of working as a professional public servant, Murphy brings each story to life, in a way that is concise, relevant and interesting. Her character development is realistic, pulled from a myriad of personality traits and characteristics that draw you to each one, in some way. You will find yourself falling, head-over-heels, for each character she’s created and when one book ends, you’ll be searching for the next one in the series.

Welcome to the magnificent beauty, of the mountains of “Wild, Wonderful West Virginia”, home to many well educated and successful people, but also home to a largely, uneducated, unemployable, cast of people, who live their days from one fix to the next—children exposed to this way of life, from birth, (a problem facing every state in the US of A). Murphy uses her years of public service experience, to portray each topic she introduces, realistically; with compassion and personalization. It is “our” problem, as a nation, and putting our heads in the sand—pretending it isn’t so—will never make things better!

Just as in the Five Points Series, a handful of people, working together, can achieve positive results. Love, compassion and education is a key factor, in mitigating the escalating increase of drug use, throughout the country. No socioeconomic class is exempt, from the devastating effects of this insidious parasite—drugs. Just one of the subjects she tackles, drug use has reached epic proportions.

Then, there is the lesser known evils that assail our nation and every state within it. CJ Murphy, shines a light, onto topics that many reader can identify with, even if only from a distance. But, like many great authors, Murphy doesn’t just use it as a tool to create books we want to read. She takes the time to research and validate her writings. While the books are fictional, the problems her characters have to contend with are not.

It’s good to see an author of great depth and understanding, educate readers on topics that touch us all, in some way, by using interesting and relatable characters—settings we can all identify with, and a storyline that is as unique and entertaining—fictional, yet steeped in reality, and all while keeping the reader captivated and wanting more.
