Desert Press is growing. This week New Zealand native Theresa Whittle was added to the DPP family of authors. Theresa is now working on preparing her first novel for release sometime in the spring of 2015. Her story is about connections between friends and lovers. At the center of the story is a May/December romance. Stay tuned for more information about her debut novel as soon as the time for its release draws closer.

Someone keeps poking me with a stick to get this written and there are reasons why I am a publisher and not a writer. I am just not creative in ‘that way’. The only constant in life seems to be that change is inevitable. Well that and ‘may you lead an interesting life.’

Desert Palm Press passed its first year anniversary in June. This year has proven to be filled with challenges, triumphs, and a little sadness.

·       Desert Palm Press became a USA registered company and as a result, we have a new logo and a new and fresh website.

·       We are currently publishing four authors, and have released 15 publications in fifteen months. Books are available in both paperback and a variety of electronic formats. Check it out on our website at http://www.desertpalmpress.com/our-books/index.html.

·       Two editors, a number of beta readers and proofreaders, and three cover designers have been added to the DPP family.

·       Of the ten first time published novels DPP has released, five of them have been #1 best sellers in our genre on Amazon’s Lesbian Romance top 100 list and often attained that status in the UK. At this writing we have two novels in the top 100 and have consistently maintained a position in the top 100 in our genre for the last year.

·       AJ Adaire’s novel, Anything Your Heart Desires, was reviewed in Curve magazine by Velvet Lounger.

·       In July 2013, Lee Fitzsimmons attended the Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) conference in Dallas, Texas and in October 2013 the Left Coast Lesbian Conference (LCLC) in Palm Springs. This year in July she attended the GCLS in Portland, Oregon. DPP had a vendor table this year in which our books were offered. We are one of the sponsors of LCLC this year in October in Palm Springs. There is still time for you to send in your registration. Go to Sapphire Books to register. It is a great time at a great venue.

·       We have become a participant in Oyster and Scribd subscription services and are currently pursuing options to expand our distribution network through other distributors, thus making it easier to gain access to our books. Through Smashwords our books are also available through Barnes and Noble, Apple, and Kobo.

·       AJ Adaire is offering author interviews on our website as well as on her own website.

Growing a new business is never easy but, looking back, it is easy to see we are making amazing progress. In the next six months you can look forward to the upcoming books:

AJ Adaire - It’s Complicated (10/2/14). It is now available for preorder on Amazon and Smashwords. The paperback will be available at time of publication.

Rae D. Magdon & Michelle Magly - Starless Nights (Dark Horizons Book 2) November 2014); All The Pretty Things (December 2014). This is a revised and reedited version of the story they released in 2013.

Rae D. Magdon - The Witch’s Daughter (Amendyr Series Book 3) (January 2015)

S.L. Kassidy - New Cuts, Old Wounds (Scarred Series Book 2)(February 2015)
